Hello fellow backpackers and travelers alike!
I’ve been living in Bogota for over a year and a half now and wouldn’t pick any other place in the world to live. I’m from the small-town of Southborough in central Massachusetts but prefer the liveliness of a major city. Although Bogota is full of people (population 8 million) it doesn’t feel so crowded because the city is very spread out. I also like that Bogota is very relaxed and stress-free unlike most other large cities. Businesses will respond to your email 3 days later, people will typically arrive 1-2 hours late to a meeting and you won’t see the majority of the population fiddling around with their i-Phones or Blackberries!
I’ve traveled around many places in Colombia (although I still have much to explore), as well as Peru, Bolivia, Argentina and Brazil. I’ve recently lived in Macau, China and Hawaii and studied aboard a crew ship while sailing around the world in 100 days. I look forward to meeting fellow travelers from all parts of the world and sharing similar experiences with one another.

North House Hostel is located on a quite side street in the north of Bogota, Colombia. Backpackers come and stay at North House for its safety and proximity to great bars and clubs, restaurants and shopping, which can all be found in the 'Zona Rosa'. The Zona Rosa and Parque 93 are also great places for a walk on a sunny day with ample lawns and parks to stretch out or exercise in. Additionally, there is the los Heroes transmilenio stop 3 blocks away which can bring you downtown in less than 20 minutes, and a 24/7 supermarket.
North House Hostel is a hostel created out of an old, 2-story, Colombian home. With a layout made for a hostel, North House has an atmosphere that is relaxing but also fun and energetic with various activities to take part in each day. The first floor has most of the common areas and lounges, a guest kitchen, an onsite bakery/cafe and a large, private backyard. The upstairs is where the 5 dormitories are located.
The 3 owners and managers represent the countries of the United States and England and have over 5 years collective experience living and enjoying Bogota. They look forward to answering all of your questions and possibly even bringing you to some of their favorite spots personally.
