The Isle of Arran nestles in the firth of Clyde, off the West Coast of Scotland. It is the most accessible of the Scottish islands, being close to Glasgow and Prestwick International airports and well served by frequent boat trains and a modern car ferry.

Belvedere was built by a retiring sea captain in 1920. The interior wood finish is of South American mahogany brought to Scotland as ship’s ballast! In the dining room you will sit on Jacobean or Cromwellian chairs to enjoy your breakfast. Our new restaurant, Arran on a Plate, opens Easter 2010, featuring seasonal local produce lovingly prepared by our son Richard, Arran’s only Master Chef.

Five well appointed bedrooms provide a choice of single, double and twin configurations. A spacious lounge features log fires on cooler evenings, although the whole house is centrally heated.

Belvedere is in an elevated position, offering unrivalled views across Brodick Bay to Goat Fell, the tallest mountain on the Isle of Arran. It is only a five-minute walk from the ferry terminal and all local amenities.

In order to avoid fraud, only make prepayments (reservations or deposits) using a credit card (or any other card that does not require a PIN number for online purchases) or PayPal. Never make an advanced payment using cash, checks, money orders or bank transfers. Learn why.

Unless otherwise agreed, reservations are only confirmed upon prepayment of a non-refundable deposit or submission of valid debit/credit card details.
In the event of a no-show, or a confirmed booking being cancelled, we reserve the right to retain any deposit or make a charge to your debit/credit card for the full value of the booking, less the cost of any meals not consumed. Upon notice of cancellation we will however do our best to re-let your accommodation and, if successful, we will reduce your liability accordingly.

Payment of a deposit or submission of your debit/credit card details constitutes your acceptance of these terms and the following conditions:

1. Guests will settle their account in full before departure.

2. Any damage caused to Belvedere property, fixtures, fittings, equipment or furnishings will be reported to the proprietors immediately.

3. Repair or reinstatement of such damaged property shall be at the sole discretion of the proprietors, as will any decision to charge guests for same.

4. Any charge for damage caused to Belvedere property will be paid for in full by guests responsible before departure.

5. Guests will be liable for any consequential loss arising from damage to property.

6. Guests will not smoke on the premises.

7. Guests will vacate their rooms by 10am on the day of departure.

8. The proprietors will not be responsible for guests' property left unattended on the premises.

9. A minimum charge of £5 will be made for the return of any items left behind and a charge of £20 will be made for room keys lost or taken, unless returned promptly.
