I'm a 31-year old Financial Planner, designer and entrepreneur by trade, with a mixed bag of other tricks. When not in NYC I'm often on the road myself with my trusted friend, the backpack.
I rent my bedroom (and sometimes the entire apartment), which is in one of New York City's funkiest areas, border of LES and Chinatown. The floors are natural bamboo (the most renewable type of flooring), and I'm big into sustainable living.
I also run a hostel in Brooklyn. It's just 15 minutes from downtown NYC. If my apartment is booked, I can hook you up with cheaper rates in B'klyn.
Our goal is to ultimately open the first green hostel in NYC (and a cafe next door), so if you stay with us you'd help us get 1 step closer to this dream.
Besides speaking fluent Eng + Spanish, we're fluent in Romanian + Vietnamese, and can manage a bit in French and Serbo-Croatian.

Share a dorm room with other international students and travelers. We are a guesthouse that provide long and short term stays to students and travelers. We have a large kitchen and common area for guests to socialize.
Though we mostly have shorter term stays, we do offer long term monthly rates for students or people who are on internships, however, you don't have to be a student or on internship to apply.
We are located in a hip area with a few cafes just around the corner. There's also a market for food just at the end of the block. The subway is only a block and a half away, so you can hop on a off like a real New Yorker!
We have two large refrigerators, free wifi internet, and if you don't have your own laptop, we have a communal computer for our guests, free of charge. We are a small guesthouse, and we often cook dinner together, we have movie nights and go on bar trips or dinner trips together sometimes.
Our location is great to explore the historic brownstones of NYC. We are located close to Fort Greene and Brooklyn Flea Market (summer months only). So give us a try if you need to stay a few days or a couple of months in the city.
