The Olive Tree is a licensed restaurant with a public bar and 5 bedrooms. The original parts of the building date from the late 1700/early 1800s and was probably built as an Inn attached to the Toll Gate (travellers had to pay to use the road!). The food is mainly homemade Italian with popular British dishes too. Food is served from 12 noon until 9pm every day. There are budget meals from less than £5.00. Your room fee also includes your evening meal! Please note - we do not serve breakfasts but there are numerous options close by. We are situated minutes away from the historic centre of Dunfermline, Scotland's ancient capital. The Abbey, Palace, Pittencrieff Park and Andrew Carnegies Birthplace Museum are all within walking distance. Edinburgh Airport and the City are about 20 minutes away by car and there is an excellent public transport service to both of these by bus or train. Dunfermline is superbly situated for visiting anywhere in Central Scotland as there are motorway links only 5 minutes from the Olive Tree which will take you to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Perth and of course anywhere in the historic Kingdom of Fife.
