Marilena la Casella Country House is a farm open to tourists which offers its guests a real agritouristic experience. A country house (called “agriturismo” in Italian) is not only an accommodation in the countryside but a way to show agriculture, its produce, farming and the relationship with nature and the surrounding territory. In the past our country house was occupied by farmers and today it has been renovated into six rustic accommodation facilities, a lovely restaurant, a swimming pool and 2 hectares of fields where we produce vegetables and breed animals. The country house towers above the whole valley of stream Niccone and the view opens onto such beautiful hills, the cultivated valley and the ruins of two old castles in the distance.

Our restaurant is famous for preparing traditional recipes with food from organic growing, which is produced on our fields and in other parts of Umbria. We transform what we cultivate and breed into freshly home-made dishes that are served with excellent wines. Season after season we devote ourselves to agriculture, letting our guests take part into grape harvest, vegetable garden cultivation, olive picking and animals breeding. Everything is thought for you to live the authentic simple life in the countryside. We also organize cooking classes for those who love this fantastic art and special entertainment for children with our lovely animals.

There are five apartments and Rosa, a two-room apartment with a double bedroom and a bathroom at Marilena Country House. Every apartment has an independent entrance. The furniture is simple and comfortable in accordance with the rustic style of Umbrian and Tuscan tradition.

All the apartments have the same structure: one double bedroom, one twin or triple bedroom, one bathroom with shower or bathtub, one living room with TV and fireplace, one fully equipped kitchen and a balcony with a view onto the valley of stream Niccone.

Well furnished and welcoming, the restaurant offers its customers a cozy and romantic atmosphere where you can spend lovely evenings and taste the best recipes of the Umbrian and Tuscan cuisine.

Marilena’s recipes are based on the local gastronomic tradition related to the history of our territory, prepared with natural ingredients only. This typical cuisine wishes to bring out the local products, from vegetables to meat, from home-made pasta to cakes and desserts. And everything is served with excellent local wines. We wish to remind you that all the ingredients we use come directly from our fields and our farm.

Umbria, in the very heart of Italy, is the only region that is not touched by the sea and is defined as the "Green Heart" of Italy: a few factories, a lot of nature and agriculture. Rural landscapes among the most beautiful in the worlds, with huge fields of olive trees, grape vines and sunflowers; an incredible historic and cultural heritage comprising small and big towns, churches, medieval palaces, sanctuaries and hermitages in the countryside, ideal places for writing and praying.

Hiking, horse-riding, jogging, motocross, sport fishing, kitesurf, windsurf, wakeboard, biking, local products tasting, cooking classes, wine tours… these are only some of the activities you can do in our territory.

Policies

In order to avoid fraud, only make prepayments (reservations or deposits) using a credit card (or any other card that does not require a PIN number for online purchases) or PayPal. Never make an advanced payment using cash, checks, money orders or bank transfers. Learn why.

The reservation is confirmed only after receiving a deposit equal to 30% of the total amount. Since the acceptance of reservation, in case of cancellation by the client, the following penalty cancellation clauses will be applied (except for special agreements):
Within 60 days before arrival no penalty;
from 60 to 45 days before arrival 30% of the total price of reservation;
from 45 to 25 days before arrival 50% of the total price of reservation;
from 25 to 1 day before arrival il 70% of the total price of reservation;
the day of arrival or in case of no show 100%.

In any case of cancellation, the deposit paid for reservation will not be refunded.
Advanced departure: in case you need to advance your departure, you must pay the total amount of the reserved stay anyway.
