Alastair and Ros Robertson are the owners of the two rental properties in Penallt. Ros, Seen in the picture holding the Ryder Cup, is Chair of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Association and holds several other positions in the Welsh tourism industry. She and husband Alastair, an architect, live just around the corner from the Old School and Capel Pentwyn and personally welcome all new guests. They bought and converted the Old School in 1996 and Capel Pentwyn in 2005/6. Ros has a background in international banking but switched careers, went back to college and became deputy headteacher in a special school in the Royal Forest of Dean, which can be seen accross the valley from the terraces of the chapel and the next door school. The conversions are stunning and everything in the chapel was done using local craftsmen and materials. Alastair and Ros are active members of the village community and also keen gardeners. Fresh flowers and beautifully tended gardens are a feature of both their properties.

Situated high above the winging and beautiful Wye Valley, this old stone built village school has been transformed by local architects into a luxury retreat. The rural woodland setting of the tiny village of Penallt ensures that peace and quiet reigns and the surrounding area is ideal for walking, cycling and horseriding. and getting in touch with nature. The nearby medieval market town of Monmouth, the birthplace of Henry V, has excellent shopping and is full of unusual things to do an see. Across the Valley, the ancient Royal Forest of Dean offers everything to do with outdoor pursuits, Within an hour's distance are the Brecon Beacons, Cardiff -Wales' capital city, Bristol, the Cotswolds and Stratford on Avon
