I have a great passion for Blue Gum Country Estate. I was married here under our ancient Blue Gum Tree and I have raised my kids here. I like to think that Blue Gum becomes a home away from home for our guests and I always treat them like I myself would like to be treated.
I am the General Manager of the lodge as well as joint owner. I take responsibility of all that occurs here and oversee all aspects making sure they are always maintained at an exceptional standard.

In an undiscovered valley, a few minutes from the town of Stanford, where wheatfields rise along the gentle slopes of folded mountains, is Blue Gum Country Estate , a 130-acre piece of paradise. The Lodge, surrounded by lush lawns and extensive gardens, is a tranquil retreat, where guests can reflect, soak up the fresh air and magnificent views, walk in the mountains, cycle along farm tracks, or laze on a pool lounger before tea in the conservatory.
Blue Gum is situated 35km beyond Hermanus and is about 150 km from Cape Town. It is an ideal venue for small get-togethers, conferences and weddings and provides a country setting coupled with luxury accommodation. All of the rooms have private verandahs and beautiful mountain or valley views. Three hectares of vineyards have been planted and will yield high quality wine in the near future. Old pastures have been fenced to house a herd of Springbok and Nguni cattle and olive orchards are being developed.
Blue Gum has also earned an excellent reputation for food, fresh local ingredients, inspired preparation and attentive service. All of these things make for an unsurpassable dining experience.
The de Kock family is excited to start their new adventure at Blue Gum. The hope is to provide luxury accommodation and quality service at all time. The estate is also being upgraded and developed to include many family friendly activities on and around the estate. Kids programs are being developed to allow parents the chance to unwind whilst still ensuring the kids are in a fun and safe environment.
